Vice President, Western Region
Since joining the NPMHU in 1988, Don Sneesby has been extremely active in the Union. Don wasted no time getting busy. He attended training to be a Union Steward shortly after completing his probationary period. Don served the membership as Branch President of the Seattle P&DC facility from 2000-2011. In addition to being a member of Local 316’s Council for more than 16 years, he was a member of the Executive Board holding the position of Recording Secretary from 2001-2005 and Vice President from 2005-2011. In 2011, Brother Sneesby was first elected to the position of Local 316 President, a position he holds to this day. On October 28, 2016, Don Sneesby was elected as the Western Region Vice President on the National Executive Board.
Don has represented the mail handlers in Washington and Alaska as a shop steward, RI399 representative, and experienced arbitration advocate throughout his 28 years of Union service. Don has attended the George Meany Labor College. As Local President, Don has hosted a wide range of training sessions for Local 316 and neighboring Locals covering a plethora of important topics. In addition, Don was a Delegate to each of the past five NPMHU National Conventions, serving on the Constitution Committee in 2008, 2012 and 2016.
